ÔÇ£Rejean Neron's Safety Sphere is a protective suit which inflates to a man-sized sphere, completely enveloping the rider in the event of a crash. It inflates in five hundredths of a second, cushioning the rider for any impact (except perhaps those into giant spikes) and consists of a loose fitting coverall suit comprised of two layers of fabric.
Neron explains: "The outer layer is made up of a highly resistant parachute type material. The inner layer is made up of a thin, moderately elastic synthetic material. In a collision situation, the passengers are thrown from the motorcycle, the cord connecting them to the motorcycle seat disconnects, the electrical voltage plummets, and the electronic circuit processor inside the belt buckle housing of each occupant connects the 9 volt battery to an electric igniter in the back housing of their respective suits." This triggers the firing of an explosive canister of propellant called nitrocellulose.
Neron is a motorcycling idealist who believes bikes could play a massive role in alleviating congestion in 21st century cities, if only riders' fear of crashing's consequences could be reduced to those of the prang-happy car driver. He's been working on the Safety Sphere for many years, through 'countless' iterations and is now looking for backing to bring the design to productionÔÇØ

The January 2, 2012 new BMW Motorrad Italy Community. The new Community will bring together all BMW Motorrad Club enthusiasts and local owners of BMW motorcycles
The BMW Motorrad Italy Community, who will be born on January 2, 2012, was created and structured on the basis of the experience of the BMW Motorrad Club Italy and extensive network of local clubs. The new Community will be articulated in the territory through the BMW Motorrad Club premises, each tied to one of the Dealer BMW Motorrad Italy
The objective of the new BMW Motorrad Italy Community is to create a virtual aggregation and socialization for all fans of the brand of the propeller. It is also the finishing point for anyone wanting to come and learn about the world BMW Motorrad entering directly into contact with the members, who are proud ambassadors.
The latter may, in the virtual space available to them, meet friends and learn new ones. You can create groups of friends, based on common interests, to stay up-to-date and in touch in real time. Recount their experiences and their travel plans, search for "adventure companions", as well as, through the travel already addressed, take to the neophyte and bring it to retrace the same routes.
Through the system of geo-localization, you can share your own itinerary "stage to stage" and, along the way, identify the places of interest reported by users or suggested directly from BMW Motorrad.
The new structure will also be the storefront of BMW Motorrad Club premises that can inform and promote the activities and their associated to potential new members or to all who can "sympathizers" research activities in specific geographical areas function of interest.

The BMW Motorrad Italy Community, in addition to the services, will offer its members a series of exclusive agreements, such as special conditions for the insurance, roadside assistance or hotels. Also the participation in the courses of "BMW Academy" will be more convenient, because security is not, in any case, an optional.
The registration to the Community, reserved for holders of BMW motorcycles, occurs through payment of annual dues at the BMW Motorrad Club Locations or online.
Two different modes are possible:
-Card Base, provides for the registration to the Community and a BMW Motorrad Club, the Europassistance roadside assistance, discounts on courses of BMW Academy, access to an annual conventions and welcome kit. The membership card is of 85 euro, for new subscriptions, and 70 euro for renewals.
-Pass Plus, provides, in addition to the provisions of the Basic Card, a series of more and improving benefits such as tribute to an additional insurance cover for damage and personal injury. The fee of the card Plus is 100 euro for new signups and EUR 85 for renewals.

OK, today's bike candy is very cool & all with the sideways guzzi engine, I dig it deeply, but come on builders! The yellow crimp-on electrical connectors & exposed wiring all willy nilly gotta go! Also, do something with the battery! Other than that, I like it.
