Looking to buy 88-95 GS

Hey everyone,

Like the line says looking for a 88-95 GS.

I scan the same sites most everyone does so I've seen most of the bikes for sale on craigslist, here, advrider etc....

Wanted to put this out there in case someone has a line on one or is thinking about selling.

My basic specs are:

+/- 40,000 miles
No funky graphics or color...this includes purple and teal editions
Shaft service or replacement, replaced rear shock and circlip on the tranny.
Good service records
$5000-$6000 price range.

Other upgrades I'd like include upgraded diode board or charging system, rear wheel bearing replacement and oil cooler relocated.

It's alot to ask, I know.

There are some nice ones out there now...but I'm turning over every stone I can.

You should have been to the MOA rally this year. A guy was selling an early 90s bike that he bought new and never abused. Garage kept. Mileage was around 40,000 I think. Very nice bike ...... $3700. He told me that he had no offers all weekend and was willing to deliver it to my house. I don't have a need for one but it was such a deal that it tormented me all weekend.

The voices in my head kept saying buy it, you can easily get your money back if you need to. But those voices have screwed me before so I kept the wallet closed.

I suggest putting a Wanted ad in the MOA magazine. He may still have it.
