    K1100RS Maintenance

I have several questions that perhaps someone would be so kind as to help me with...
    1) Where can I get an owner's manual for a newly aquired 1996 K1100RS? (which would likely answer the rest of my questions)

    2) Is the clutch a "wet clutch"? (do I need a special motor oil?)

    3) As far as oil, is 20w50 the recommended viscosity?

    4) There is a digital timer on the center of the bars. It seems that pressing the hour & minute button at the same time resets the timer. Is that all it does?

    Thanks for any help.

Hi RJ, I have seen the owners manual on E-bay and if you're looking for a maintenance manual look at this website http://www.okdpm.com/ The owners manual and maintenance manual have a chart for different weight oils for different temperture ranges. I just changed my oil and used Mobil 1 15w50 which is in the range for Maine tempertures. My dealer did mention 20w50 but I personnally use the manufactures chart. And the buttons on the clock just change time. That is all I have gotten mine to do. And the clutch I believe is dry but don't quote me on that. I am still a rookie....ride on!

    1. Ask the dealer to order it for you.

    2. No. Dry clutch.

    3. I'd suggest Mobil-1 Red-Cap 15W-50. It should be good for any weather condition you are likely to be able to ride the bike in.

    4. Dunno - doesn't sound like it's original. Can you take a digital photo of it and post it here? Perhaps someone will recognize it. There is a digital clock in the instrument pod - which reads in 24H military mode. The manual will explain how to set it.
