    Another Newbie

I'm an older rider, but new to BMW. I just purchased a new R1200RT. WOW!! That's all I can say. I should add that I think I overpaid to join. How did I end up paying 65 bucks?? I see the price is $40. I must be easy. Anyway to fix this? With the $25 difference I could put a down payment on a BMW T-Shirt!

Welcome Jwilly, from one newbie to another. I just picked up my RT last weekend and am enjoying the heck out of it, that is when I can ride because of the cold and rain. This is my first BMW and I come from a Harley background, so this is all new. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am mine and welcome to the forum.

Thanks, I am enjoying it. I have owned about everything other than Harley. So far the RT is doing great. I rode to work this moning, 30 miles, 41 degrees, heated liner, seat and grips on low. Warm as toast. I really like that adjustable windscreen.

I'm meeting a bunch of adv guys Friday for our annual ride and camp in the WV mountains. This will be a VStrom trip. I doubt the RT would like the timber roads and creek crossings! The foracst is for a high of 44. Glad the Storm set up for the heated gear, too.

I know, I know, I should be doing it on a GS! Sorry, I used up this year's MC allowance buying the RT! Someday, I'll add a GS!
