Directly behind me and in the direction that Keith is looking is Hatcher Pass and the route to the old Independence Gold Mine. There's a sign about it at the top of the cliffs.
I'll take you up there on another ride.

I climbed up to the edge of the silt cliff and took a shot toward where we had just been.
And this is the opposite direction, looking toward home.
Off in the middle distance you can see another butte (it's just on the other side of the lone dead tree/stick thing in the middle of the pic). My route will skim along the right hand side of that butte and it takes roughly 25 minutes to get there.
An hour or so later I was pulling up in my driveway. Hope you enjoyed the ride as much as I did, and special thanks to Dave and Bob for help with my flat tire.
uhh, Bob and Laurel, about the 90 bucks for that tire plug... can we talk about that?

That was a fantastic set of pictures. We sure don't have scenery like that in Rhode Island!![]()
Thanks very much for posting your photos and story.

WOW! With all the great photos, I feel almost as though I had been along for the ride.
I would love to see more of club rides and rallies here in the forums in this format!

Thank you for the nice comments. I actually have another report that I could post to the site too. I'm buried in work stuff but will post another one probably this weekend.
I see where you converted an existing forum to a ride report section. I'll post the new report in there. I assume this one ought to go in there too, no?
