BIG Thanks To Airheads at BMWMOA

Hopefully this is the gratitude for many who benefited from the food, tent shelter, and fantastic knowledge freely handed out to all at Johnson City. Kevin Reimer from Tallahassee, Florida worked almost the whole rally just helping other airheads with their problems along with other helpful airheads...and a "thank you" to the cook whom I am not sure of his name but he cooked and kept coffee going for all Airheads (and several wanna be airheads that still took the benefits with them). For the more "mature" BMW product it was extraordinarily represented in the folks at the Rally !

i was parked right across the street from them, my bike was running kinda "eh-ish" but i never got the chance to wander over.

nice eye candy parked around their tent though.

    Airheads help

They were great! I am technically challenged electrically and blew a fuse because one of my horns was shot. They were very helpful and made my repair easier. Thanks!

No question, Airheads and their brethren are the heart and soul of the BMW Motorcycle world.

You'll never meet a better group of riders. They understand one another, they understand air cooled BMWs, and they offer wisdom, comfort or beer to anyone who wanders over.

There's a reason there will only be airhead BMWs in my garage.

I was in the tent for a good portion of every day I was there. Lots of helpful peeps coming and going.

    The tea was good, too.

Kevin is a great guy! If you ever get the chance to attend his tech day, don't miss it.

the set-up and efforts by all was great, but then a lot of the members were out there when all rallies were airhead rallies, ps the mainstays of the crew stayed late into sunday after almost everyone else had left.. (just in case)...

The only thing I regret about having made the decision to work instead of attend the Rally is missing the opportunity to join in the airhead fun. I *will* make the next one; Good Lord willing.

Kevin, Bob, the Cook, and all the other Airheads made everyone feel right at home. Couldn't imagine a more congenial group!

Great location for watching the fireworks too ;-)

    Thanks

Thanks to Kevin and Todd who gave me time and expertise to replace the seal in my RT's final drive. Bob's BMW rushed me the parts and by 2:00pm Friday, the bike was leak free. My wife and I gave it a good shake-down on the 130 mile Shady Valley figure 8 on Saturday and a flawless ride home to Raleigh on Sunday. Great rally. Hope to see you Airheads in Redmond.

The juxtaposition of "Simple by Choice" and running a generator at 6:30am to make coffee had me scratching my head.

Wait until 7am, guys. Your neighbors will be appreciative.

    Another "Thank You"

I had a miss when I pulled into the rally Wed. evening. Thursday morning several at the Airhead tent helped with the diagnosis of my R100/7. It ran great all 400 miles home. Thanks.
