    Ignition Cut off Switch

    Just purchased the F650gs twin last Friday. Just after the purchase I noticed that the red ignition cut off switch is not the standard one that I have seen on all other bmw motorcycles. It does not have the long red lever and is very hard to operate and nearly impossible to operate with one hand.

    Does anyone else have this same switch?

    Does anyone know what it would take to switch this out?

    The switch is a "stubby" that is less susceptible to being broken off than the knobs on the other BMW models. You could buy the standard switch knob from a used parts source and swap the knob. I was told by Mike Figelski of www.beemerboneyard.com that the switches will come apart to accomplish that. I have not had to do that, yet.
