need tech help! have an 05 k1200lt that sounds like its pinging. like preignition around 2 to 3k rpm under slight load when going thru the gears. bmw dealers say they cant hear any thing. anybody have similar xperience?? thnx, dad browne

Did the dealer's wrench actually take it out for a ride ... not just a cruise down the street, but actually put a load on the engine? It's the load that would bring on pinging that would not be evident in a static test in the shop or a cruise around the block.
