    Unhappy Nuetral Safety

My '05 1200RT lost the nuetral light. When I shift the clutch has to be all the way out for the gear indicator to function and when I put the side stand down it shuts off in nuetral. I also have to start it with the clutch fully depressed. I spoke with the dealer and they were saying it could cost $300 to repair. Has anyone heard of any FSB on this or have any ideas.

There's been alot written about neutral lights, clutch switches and neutral switches failing.. Try searching the forum using some of those keywords.. Here's one thread addressing the issue.. http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/showthre...neutral+switch

Thanks for the reply, I checked out the thread and it was very helpfull. Dealer told me they would have to drop the swing arm $200 for labor and $65 or so for part. My reply was the same as most, guess I live with it. If this is so prevelant you would think they would have a recall. Not holding my breath
