The word I got at my local dealer open house is that the factory is shut down in Berlin. Apparently BMW didn't want to get stuck with a big inventory at the end of the model year. 2010 production will start up in August.
It's a good thing some of my local club members have purchased their red F650's early in the season! 4 - red F650 Twins are now some of the new rides in my local club this year!!

This has been about the time since 05 that they have shut down to tool up for the new model year.

lets make sure there's no confusion - the F650 (twin) below is made at the BMW motorcycle plant in Berlin - it contains a 798cc engine (same engine that the F800 has except the F650 is tuned differently)
