3 towards the rear fo the fairing panel by the foot peg.

Once all of these screws are removed you can carefully pick up the fairing and take it off the bike.

Please note that is has a tendency to snag by the cylinder head and by the glove box.

Lay it flat in an out of the way area.

Shown below are all three types of the screws removed from the right side.

    • The ones highlighted in blue are the T-27's by the head
    • The middle ones are the standard T-25's
    • The yellow highlighted ones are the special T-25's short ones for the glove compartment hinge.

Now with the side fairing removed you can see the snorkle.

To get to the air filter, you unlcip the snorkle from the air box and pull of the snorkel section form the push in point on the frame

Highlighted is where the clips are by the air box

Top clip Removal - the clips are retained in place so that you need to push on the retaining tab to be able to release to pull out, the top and bottom clips are the same

With the clips removed, pull the snorkle from the air box and off of the retainer in the frame.

To re-install the snorkel it is very easy.

The air box portion is a tongue and groove fit - you can't miss.

The other thing i do is slightly, very slightly lube the grommet and the nipple to facilitate the removal of the snorkle next time.

    DONE

Put the bike back together and ride - the most important thing here is putting the correct screws back for the glove box door hinge.
