    Autocom and a Yaesu HT

I'm looking into a setup that would allow the use of my Yaesu VX-170 while I'm on the bike (85 K100RT). I currently have an Autocom Easi-Plus (9V powered/7 pin DIN) that I use for two-up intercom and music. My first thought was to build a patch cord (including PTT button) to connect the HT to the Autocom unit. The second idea was to bypass the Autocom unit and connect the HT directly to the headset in the helmet (again with a PTT button). Granted that the latter would be for solo use only.

In either case, the first step is to locate wiring diagrams, and identify the proper pin connections. I would be greatful for any information on the needed connections and/or suggestions that could simplify the process.

    Thanks,
    Monte

as far as that note about keying via a 2.2k resistor: if you have the headset mic connected to the mic-hi and mic-lo lines, all you need to do is have the ptt complete the circuit and it'll key.

That is weird. The post shows a red X as an image placeholder for me. I used the 'view/source' menu and located the img link of http://cellset.com/85543R0assydwg.pdf and was able to get to it that way.

    Thanks.

Anyone know the pin out for the 3.5 mm 4 conductor inputs on the Autocom box or the configuration for the 7pin DIN connector for the headset?

Here's a sketch of the Yaesu pinout:

    and the Autocom pinout:

I used a VX5 on my K1100RS and it worked well.
