    Campfires for tent campers

The FAQ states that no campfires are permitted in the main facility. But since the tent area is outside of the main area, can we have campfires? Tent camping is sort of lame without it...

yeah I sorta agree with you, but given the close proximity of tents and bikes contaning flammable material (gosh look at all those farkles!!!) I am good with the no campfire deal

we'll have to make a "virtual" campfire of sorts I guess.....

    Campfires

The farkles and bikes survive at the other rallies. They would be fine here as well.

Can't say I've ever been to a National where campfires were permitted.

Remember - this really is not camping. At a national rally, it's just "sleeping in a tent."

Does it come in a XXXL version. When we camp the size of the fire is directly proportional to the amount of alcohol consumed.

Aside from most of the rally sites not allowing it, I think this is a good reason to not allow them. Lots of riders + tents + bikes packed into a small area + fire = BAD NEWS.

There are always off-site campgrounds you could stay at that will allow campfires, I'm sure. Anyhow, most people are in the beer "tent" watching the entertainment and socializing there, so a campfire isn't so necessary.

I've never seen 8000 - 9000 attendees in the beer tent

Which pretty much explains why no fire marshall worth his moustache would ever allow open fires in a field with 4,000 people, tents and motorcycles.

And the fire is going to safely go where, again?
