    Another Bike Friendly Camera?

I just came across this news article whilst perusing the latest on DPReview.

    http://www.dpreview.com/news/0902/09021805canond10.asp

Although, a Nikon DSLR shooter, I have always preferred the Canon compacts and they have now just released this waterproof, cold resistant camera. I've already ruined one compact on my motorcycle trips so I have always been looking for a tough compact.

Although the looks seem to be inspired by a water droplet itself this might be a serious contender for my next compact.

I just thought I would pass this along and share. Thoughts anyone?

Very cool... thanks for the link. I've always been a Canon fan and until now it seemed the only option for weather 'resistant' was Olympus, but I've never been a fan of the quality of their digital cameras (overall build and image quality).

I agree. I used to covet my friends OM-4T but that was another era. Their compacts, in my opinion, have a clunky user interface with the screen etc. When you look at Flickr you can see the most popular cameras used as they extract the EXIF data. Canon is ahead by leaps and bounds. There has to be a reason for this.

Very cool camera. 12 mp and image stabilization. Maybe the camera designers are catching up to "adventure" photography... or at least "outdoor activity" photography.

    Price and advertising.
Nikon ads w/ Mr. Demi Moore aka Astin Kutcher suck!

Not that Canon suck. They have a great color engine.
Apple uses it in their iPhone.

$330 is the list price. Probably going to be hard to find discounts right away as the camera hasn't actually been released, yet (might be wrong). See Amazon pre-order link, for example.
