    Try a Panasonic TZ5

I have one of these:This little baby shoots astounding shots!!!!!
I cannot speak highly enough of it.Consumer reports did not rate it as highly as others...They can shove it as far as I am concerned.Case in point, they rated the Samsung A560 1080p 40"LCD as the best of the best for TV's.I bought it,had it for 3 days and took it back.Mediocer picture, and horrible sound. Not worth a fraction of the $1000 I paid for it.

Send me a PM if you want to see pics from it in Maui HI.Great little camera!!!!

I purchased the FujiFilm-2000 and here are some pictures. I'm still reading up on it. Over a hundred pages and the camara has so many functions.

The thing about traveling is, you never want it to end and you can't wait to get home.

Pretty cool, with the pictures in my documents, I can magnify to where the license plate takes the whole screen and not loose to much resolution.

It's been a year since I purchased my FujiFilm camara. I've posted well over a hundred photo's on this forum. I am glad that I went with a camara that uses AA Batteries instead of a rechargable. I can take many photo's on a set, if I do not use the flash to much, and a few times while camping, I just pop in a new set. All in all I'm very happy with my choice. Later

For a P&S to carry on the bike my next choice is mostly going to be a weather-proof one. There are several being offered now that even stand up to being submerged in say 4 to ten feet of water, are shock resistant, light and don't have a retractable lens (its always behind the glass in the body) so start-up time is quick.

I'd worry more about controls, are they easy to use? Don't get carried away with megapixels, or high zoom, stay away from digital zoom. Don't need to worry about batteries or rechargeable going dead just get a spare. (although my new Pen EP-1 is a bit of a disappointment on the battery life but thats a bit out of the price range were talking here) But as for view-finders I'll have to disagree with Tom, well slightly anyway, they are nice in bright sun no doubt about it and for any action shooting, I find it is easier to pan and maintain your target esp. up close. But I will agree it's not a main feature thing for a compact P&S but still nice to have, all mine, except the Pen have one, but then my eyes are getting olderdamn cataract forming in one gerrrrrr
