    "Brake Failure" indicator? 06 R1200GS

I just took my brake pads off to check the remaining thickness. When done the "Brake Failure" indicator was illuminated and did not go off, even after allowing the engine to idle for several minutes and pumping the brakes. I also took the bike of the stand and put it in gear. The brakes seem to work fine. We have a foot or so of snow and 10 deg. weather, so I can't take it for a ride.

How do I get the indicator to cancel?

My experience is that my "brake failure" warning is only cancelled after I ride way, w/in the first 15 ft. or so.

Maybe yours will cancel, as well when you have a chance to ride the bike a few yards.

Yes, if your bike has ABS, you must ride a few feet for the ABS sensors to read the wheels and do their self check or what ever it is. If you ride more than half a block and it does not turn off, then I would guess you have a problem.
