The Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail routes ya along many small lakes and ponds

The Trans Adventure trail goes by Big Falls County Park. You leave the trail for about two miles then make a U-turn back to the trail

I talked to the car owner's wife and was told her husband owned this car since they dated in High School. The car was parked in front of an old school house which also was in need of restoration.

The wife wished they had cash to restore the old girl.

The husband did not seem to be very happy with me taking interest in his old girl, so after a few minutes I resumed on the TWT

1957-59 Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable Hardtop with Continental kit.

The top mechanically retracted into the trunk, and was totally hidden from sight

Ford built 20,766 units. Restored price roughly $25,000

Jim, thanks for a great report. The photos are terrific. I am looking forward to riding the Trans-Wisconsin some time soon.

Chad has done us a great service in putting this route together. Some of it will be familiar to anyone who has been dual-sport riding for a few years at events like Enduraid, or who has gone on the excellent rides led by Chad or Ernie Bell at GR3. But a lot of it is new to me.

I told the riders in the Wisconsin Club (at the meeting last night) to check this thread out. A few of them are already talking about doing this ride.

You should send something to the newsletter, or come to the April meeting. There were lots of questions ....

Yeah, in my book, any Beemer with disc brakes is a modern bike.
