Actually Jim, I wanted to highlight the Live Live cover as referenced in your past post. I now have it on cassette, the first (older) version you referenced, and now the "new" remastered version. Good stuff from an era where talent was part of music.

    A Prairie Home Companion.

Paul and I were remembering listening to his very last show at the Iowa Rally many many years ago. Garrison's been back awhile and we still love the magical tales he weaves with such skill.

"Well it's been a quiet week in Lake Woebegon, my home town ... Out on the edge of the Prairie..."
That 15 minute talk is a podcast now... I've been downloading them for 3 years+...

So is the writers Almanac. A daily pod cast by Mr. Keillor:

I was watching this... With a heavy heart... Such a loss...

Pretty cool to hear him mention/emulate Ry Cooder too...

I still remember the announcement of Lowell George's death. I was listening to WBCN out of Boston when the DJ-Mark Parenteau came on and said something like...I have a sad announcement to make Lowell George from Little Feat has died....too many ham and cheese sandwiches and too much cocaine.
As for Ry Cooder-that's some more great music. He did the soundtrack for the movie Southern Comfort and exhibited some great playing. Jerry Douglas is a wizz with the Dobro but I like the improvisation of Cooder. More great stuff Jim! Gary

If one cannot command attention by one's admirable qualities one can at least be a nuisance
