Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (AF 24K Gold Remaster) in glorious MONO!!!

This album was written as a one-up to what the Beatles were doing with the multi-track studio...
The Beatles would hear it and do thier own one-up with a little album called Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Pet Sounds is not just another album about cars and bikini girls, you can really hear how they were honing their skills as song writers.

    Good selection...
I was back in college around the time KICK was released. Working at the college radio station gave me plenty of time to broadcast the gospel of INXS and Mr. Hutchens. Tragic ending for such a talented man.

Franz Ferdinand - Darts of Pleasure. Not listening to the Glastonbury show.. but the Pink Pop Fesitval show of the same year... so cool to see a band grow and find itself.

    ...tragic ending...txedomoon
When I heard the news, I thought: "what a terrible terrible waste..." It was the same with Jim Morrison's death.

Artists, expecially writers, pay a terrible price for their talent.

Oh, baseball and NASCAR ... you know, the usual.

Oh, if its music, that's only in my car from Sirius--mostly 50s on 5 although I did go to 60s on 6 a week ago, but Cousin Brucie was rambling on and on about Dick Clark, so I switched back.

Shame about Levon Helm, for sure. Knew nothing about him but liked the music.

I do watch my Imelda May videos on iPhone on occasion, and it's nearing time to start playing the "anthem of summer,", i.e. Games People Play by the Spinners.

But, it's mostly baseball and NASCAR.

Cold and Rainy... 43 degrees Farenheit did not make for a fun ride to coffee this morning... after returning put this on and it matched the grey day and lifted my spirits...

This Thursday evening I took myself out to see a true diva in action. Measha Breggergosman live. If you ever have an opportunity to listen to this powerhouse take it. She is larger than life not only in voice but in personality. Her latest CD release is worth the price, Measha Brueggergosman, I've Got a Crush on You.
