Life is a Game. Play to win.
Nonsense.
Back in the day before digital tuning, we'd fine tune the signal with the little ring around the channel changer dial. ADVRider has some excellent content you will not find anywhere else. You just have to filter out the noise.
Here is my Rx:
Pick and choose the ride reports.
Spend lots of time in the Regional Forums
Use the wrenching forums for informational purposes only
Ignore Jo Momma. It might be good for entertainment, but nothing "good" happens there.
I saw the videos this morning - good way to start out my work day.
It sucks that they banned you (this is the second banning I've heard of that sounds rather unwarranted), though I find it a little funny that you complained over here, when we usually see people from here complaining over there. Not that I find the banning itself funny, mind you.
I agree some of the ride reports have gone downhill. There are a few good ones, but I started to get tired of searching for those when a certain persons high profile "adventure ride" consisted of drinking a lot, being escorted place to place, attempts at debauchery, and staying with other members with the very occasional camping. I didn't see any adventure in that. I still like browsing through and finding the good ones, but there are other sites you can read stuff on - HU for example.
LOTS of good happens there. Hell, most of the GREAT happens there. If someone needs help, that's where it takes place. When folks are zipping across the country for some meat space time together, by and large, they're folks that have spent time in Jo Momma. It's where the inmates are people and don't spend their days talking incessantly about -yawn- motorcycles. You just have to deal with a lot of tedious crap to get there. Hell, our club's president is a former mod in Jo Momma.
But it has gotten a bit much since about a million n00bs have invaded and decided that the hug is the greatest human achievement.

Some bikes. Some with motors, some without.

Change happens - get used to it.
So, your definition of an Adventure ride is a big enduro bike and camping out?
Sounds like sour grapes to me.
They have so few rules there, it's hard to imagine getting perma-banned when it's so easy to stay.

IMO, it's not worth posting in JM. Everyone there wants to be a wise-ass or an e-thug, and frankly my time is better spent elsewhere. Sure I'll take a peek from time-to-time, but the truely good stuff happens elsewhere on the site, with an occasional link into JM for the help requests and such.
I've been known to thwack someone that's being silly or stupid, but I'll take Kbasa's cleaning out the fridge thread over all but the rarest and most extraordinary ride report ANY day.
Translation: "Yay! You ride a motorcycle! Now tell me something that actually matters."
And yet I'm here and there and other motorcycle sites and places. It's all very confusing.![]()
