Well, I finally had to do it..........

brought my bike to the shop for the first time in its life.

50K over the last 3 years and i've done every bit of work myself, new final drive, rear main seals, fuel filters, brakes, fluids, electrical work, etc, etc.

insurance claim, had to do it.

    You're only human.
    We understand.
Sometimes you have to go to the doctor even if you have taken care of yourself just fine for years.

Keep us posted it has the makings of an interesting story.

    it started with attempted theft,

moved on to an incredibly gracious offer of help today from an adv inmate

now it's in the shops hands, there is something immensely relaxing about just sitting back and waiting for the bill, no chasing down parts, no breaking tools, finding out you need a weird tool half way through a job, skinning your knuckles or all that other fun stuff.

i'd still rather wrench myself though.

I'll probably have to take a bike the a shop someday. I've had 4 BMWs and about a dozen bikes in all and I will probably take one in some day. I haven't had anyone else install a tire.
