Lost my EWS virginity on Friday August 29th at 8:34 am in East Margaree, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
BMW should be pulling all bikes with this issue ASAP and have them corrected. In Canada it's not a recall but rather a service update (or something to that effect). When the bike comes in then it gets done. In the meantime have fun if and when it happens.
After a very long (500 km) tow to Atlantic Motoplex in Moncton on friday afternoon and evening the bike was delivered to the shop first thing in the morning and the antenna ring was replaced and the bike washed within an hour on a Saturday and, to top it off, the technician came in on his day off to do the work.
The thought that some bikes may not get it done asap because it's not a recall borders on the criminal.
To those who are planning to visit our maritime provinces Atlantic Motoplex is the only BMW dealer in the area. Stop by for a visit it's worth it.
As a side note I found the Emergency service provided by BMW service customer representatives to be examplary.
But all in all it was a good, if not wet, trip.
PS: The R1200RT's are the easiest to fix.
