    Signs of spring

    After the hard winter that many parts of the country have endured this year, have you found any good signs that spring is coming? I'll start off with a couple.

    "Is it spring yet"? I think these robins were a little optimistic. They look a little cold...

    Eileen and I finally got the bikes out for a short ride today, and found that the local population of Great Blue Herons were returning to their treetop rookerie:

    Found a couple of crocus yesterday. First ones I've seen this year.

    ............

    ...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT
    THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT...

    * LOCATIONS...ALL OF WESTERN NEW YORK.

    * TIMING...LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

    * HAZARDS...HEAVY SNOW.

    * ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW POTENTIALLY ACCUMULATING 7 TO 12 INCHES.

    * IMPACTS...MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW MAY PRODUCE VERY DIFFICULT
    TRAVEL CONDITIONS WITH SNOW COVERED ROADS AND POOR VISIBILITY.
    INCREASING WINDS WILL PRODUCE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW
    WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND NIGHT.
