With each oil change
At least annually
Per the maintenance schedule

If you insist on exercising a right to burn our flag, first be so kind as to wrap yourself in it and then douse yourself with gasoline just before you strike the match...
I'm waiting for the K&N guys to show up.....

Some bikes. Some with motors, some without.
Itake a look at it annually to see how it is. I blow it out and check it for pinholes, then back in it goes. I don't ride much in dusty conditions, so it seems to stay fairly clean. I have only replaced it once since owning the bike, and even then it wasn't vey dirty. I doubt it was done before that since the bike had very low miles when I bought it.

I can't wait to retire and have a fixed income. The one I have now is always broke.
Since I do all my own maintenance, I do it whenever I think about it. Usually far more often than necessary!
