My friend Joe and I are going to ride over the the fairgrounds and check it out tomorrow. I have been to Gray many times but I have never been to the fairgounds that I recall. It's a hour trip and the weather is supposed to be 75 and sunny. Joe wants to get an early jump on his motel reservations since he has a wife, grandaughter, daughter and son-in-law that want to attend with him (so far).

    Current Rally Site Lodging Requirements

Here's the updated answer regarding potential rally site lodging requirements...

    100 acres or larger site

50 acres of green space for camping on site

    3000 motel/hotel/ B&B rooms within a 30 mile radius of the site

Above info is per the Board approved revised Rally Site Consideration Guidelines - October 2007

That sounds good for future rallies provided of course that the rooms aren't committed to some other group.

    Thanks for the update.

Just one of the many issues we cover...

Ben, when reviewing a potential site availability of rooms is one of the countless number of questions asked. Yet, some things will always be beyond our control. As an example when Gillette was reviewed, scheduled and approved, the area was not in an energy boom.

When the 2009 site at Johnson City, TN was reviewed we made sure there was not a NASCAR race scheduled around the rally dates.

    Grey, Tn. fairgroungs

Well if the 09 Rally is going to be at the Fair grounds in Grey, Tn. they've made a good choice. I've been there many times for dog shows. I raise and show Champion Jack Russell Terriers. its a very nice place, just watch where you step...Hee Hee Hee

Only 848 miles from MA. I may have to take the "long" route!

There's a really nice state park with camping about ten miles away.
