Check out the Chromeheads site... There are few people who did some mods like new cranks etc. One "C" reportedly does 140+ (I couldn't imagine doing 140+ on any ride!)
The "C" has power... It's just measured in torque.
I do 105 easily... Why though... I roll through the countryside 50-60 mph in complete comfort. I've spent 30 years leaning forward on a bike... Time to kick back relax, legs up and cruise...
It pulls the Ural at 70+ w/ no problems either.

The C was designed with all the characteristics of a tractor.
The engineering of the C was also set up for its low torque and hp.
You would do better getting another bike like I did that was made to handle the higher hp and MPH, and curves.
The FJR I have can easily do 150+, the K1200's , ZX14, the same.
I am looking to put a 3 point hitch on my Leper C, to replace my Allis Chalmers Model C, and plow the fields with it. Hell they drive and handle the same. Although, the Allis was more dependable.

I know there is much written about this item but I think it is use full to share this change. I have bought the BMW with the modifications already installed. The previous owner thought the bike was under powered and asked the former local BMW dealer to look in to it. He has made the following changes:
Different camshafts (of the 1150)
Injector bodies (of the 1150)
Motor management (of the 1150)
Different air box( manufactured by the dealer)
The previous owner was very happy with the change and the dealer told me that this how BMW should have made the engine. It is still very strong at low rpm (max. torque at approx. 3000) and the power band is up to 7500 rpm. Above 5000 rpm the bike starts flying. The idle rpm is at approx. 1100 rpm at which it runs very smooth. See the photo's for more details.
