brass vs copper washer for oil tank

I bought a oil filter kit from the local bmw dealer. It came with 4 different washers.

Forgetting about the small one...as far as I can tell, the bigger brass washer is for the engine oil drain plug.

The remaining 2, one brass and one copper seems to be of equal size. I guess one of them is to be used for the oil tank drain plug. Is there a difference between the two types of washers? What if I used brass instead of copper?

(sorry, but I may have my brass and copper wrong... what I'm calling brass is gold-looking washer, copper is silver looking washer... as seen here: http://www.ascycles.com/detail.aspx?ID=2685)

As far as crush washers go, brass is a sort of gold colour, copper a reddish-gold, silver is aluminum.

Ok, I found out the answer from the dealer...

if anyone cares, the silver looking washer is not to be used.
