In a couple months I'm planning to move to Denmark. I can't go there without my recently acquired 87 K100LT. Anyone have some experience shipping bikes overseas and/or recommendations as to which services are good?

1) If you're relocating for an employer, see if they have an expat liaison who will arrange the shipping of personal items.
2) Use Goggle to check:
To see the cost of duties and nationalizing the bike.
See what a comparable bike would cost to buy IN Denmark.
Shipping (I found Http://www.motorcycleshippers.com/s_...nal_crated.htm)
3)Make your decision
4) Build or get a crate, fully enclosed for the most protection. Mark the hell out of the exterior for which way is up, how to handle it, etc. etc.
5) Photograph the bike before you pack it.
6) Remove the Battery!!!!
7) Expect some level of damage regardless of precautions taken.
I imported my Dakar to CR, but the group I'm working with paid the bill - and it was a lot - $2700 in taxes alone. I don't know what Denmark is.
Have some great rides!!!

If it turns out to be too much of a hassle to ship your bike, I'm reluctantly selling my 98 R1100RT in June as I am moving back to CA.

Check out a BMW dealer for a crate. After they unpack new bikes the crates are usually disposed of.
