Yesterday it was 62 degrees up here in NE Michigan. On Friday I worked on getting my 1100rs prepared. I managed to rack up over 300 miles yesterday.
This is the way I mark spring living in the Great White North.

Today was our first ride of '08 as well. Headed to Letchworth State Park, our favorite playground. Temp was near 60 but there was still some snow to be found. Good to be in the saddle again.

Although I rode a little in January, February, and March, today was really the first "longer ride". A friend came down from Michigan and we rode for about four hours. We ended up running out near Lake Erie, where the temperature was a chilly 48 with a stiff wind coming off of the lake. Brrr! It was still a great ride, and the GS seems to be running decently (and stopping decently), again. Now I realized how out of shape I am. Normally a 700 mile day is "long". After the 4 hours of riding we did, I'm exhausted and a little sore. Time to get a good night of sleep; I earned it!
Not the first time out this season, but by far the most comfortable. Think no rain.
If you don't wear a helmet when you ride....you probably shouldn't be riding.

Josh, my wife and I came down to your area yesterday. After a quick stop at Cabela's I wanted to try City Barbeque on West Central Ave. Someone on the forum mentioned it last year and I've been wanting to try it ever since. Great day to ride, but that wind really picked up in the afternoon. Even away from the lake, it was definitely cool. But great to ride without heated gear for a change!

We rode around Keuka Sunday, it was a great day for riding. We both wished we didn't have to come back early for an appointment at 6PM. I just starting riding to work again last week. The road salt is mostly gone and temperatures are in the teens and 20's during the morning ride, but the afternoon ride home is great. We will have to add Letchworth to our list of places to ride this year.
Enjoy,
City BBQ is not bad, though I really prefer "Shorty's BBQ", which is a bit more formal (standard sit-down restaurant). They have fantastic pulled pork.
The wind was indeed bad; much worse off the lake, and across the farm fields south of Toledo, I assure you.Today was better riding. I spent my lunch from work on a joyride; along route 65. If you're ever looking for some interesting rides down this way, let me know. I can give you directions, or join in if you like and time works out.
I also head to a "bike night" up in Ypsi, sometimes. When the weather is good, a number of people gather at "Depot Town" (including Beemokat, from this forum). Good times; Tuesdays; I usually get there around 6:30, myself. Mostly BMW's, Triumphs, and metric touring bikes. A few HD's and sport bikes, as well. Generally a good mix; one or two overly loud bikes...
Josh, I'll PM you instead of carrying on a "private" conversation on the forum.

I had been cooped up in the house trying to wrap up taxes (yup - procrastinator) and I was DETERMINED to ride on Sunday! Welllll - I rode - 180 miles ALLLL in the rain!!! To ME - that's Spring!!!
