Front brake
2009 F650gs with 73,000 miles and 3 sets of brake pads, I think I need a new brake disk. What is available out there. I am getting a pulsing now at near stop speed. This is the front disk.

Wow, I have only used three sets of front pads on my 94 R1100RS in 170,000 miles, and still on the original discs I do have a habit of downshifting a lot as part of my normal riding style. Also, the terrain here in east central Wisconsin is flat for the most part. Is the terrain in your area especailly hilly or mountainous?
Aside from that, a pulsing brake action is typically a warpped brake disc. A somewhat crude/easy way to check that is use a plastic cable tie (the big heavy type) wrapped around the fork leg, with the "tail" pointed to and just touching the brake disc. With the front wheel off the ground spin the front tire and watch the tie-tail where it touches the brake disc. At least it will give you some visual indication of disc runout. Of course a better check is to use a dial indicator to check disc runout, something your dealer/mechanic can do.
Have the brake fluid flushed out, and have the master/caliper cleaned out/checked to see if a dragging brake is the cause of the excessive wear. Also check the disc for wear, because it may be near or at the minimum disc thickness. As the disc gets thinner, looses mass, it is even more likely to warp due to braking heat.

I just need a new disk. I ride hard for a old guy. There is mountains all around me. The BMW one will destroy the pension check.
