A tough night here....bear with me brothers and sisters.

Heavenly Father, our human ties with our friends of other species is wonderful and special gift from You. We now ask You to grant our special animal companions your Fatherly care and healing power to take away any suffering they have. Give us, their human friends, new understanding of our responsibilities to these creatures of Yours. They have trust in us as we have in You; our souls and theirs are on this earth together to give one another friendship, affection, and caring. Take our heartfelt prayers and fill Your ill or suffering animals with healing Light and strength to overcome whatever weakness of body they have.

Your goodness is turned upon every living thing and Your grace flows to all Your creatures. From our souls to theirs goodness flows, touching each of us with the reflection of Your love. Grant to our special animal companions long and healthy lives. Give them good relationships with us, and if You see fit to take them from us, help us to understand that they are not gone from us, but only drawing closer to You. Grant our prayer through the intercession of good St. Francis of Assisi, who honored You through all Your reatures.

Give him the power to watch over our animal friends until they are safely with You in eternity, where we someday hope to join them in giving You honor forever.

Amen _ St. Francis of Assisi

    My Chico

Chico was an apple head chihuahua. The best little dog. Friendly, not nervous or skittish.
On February 13 of this year he went to doggie heaven. He was almost 15 years. He is greatly missed but lovingly remembered.

Fluffy and Garfield, I live next to a rental house and these two males were abandoned by 2 different renters at the same house. Their both the nicest cats around. They both know their names and will come when I call them by name.

    Tucker

    IMG_6800.jpg

This fellow had bad ear infections, and was picked up as a stray - no tag, no collar, no chip - by the local pound. 75 lbs and the most serene disposition I've seen in a poodle. We named him Tucker.

    This is a wonderful thread....

Here is our dog 'Gracie'....we rescued her as a pup in Las Cruces, NM where some scumbag had thrown her off the side of a hwy in a sack! She is very caring & loving and understands a large vocabulary.

Ironic when ya think about it. Given just the facts you state, about her past, and the fact that she ended up with a loving family....being thrown from that car proved to be likely the best thing that could have happened too her.

It is a shame that all the unwanted animals can't be so lucky....give her a little tummy rub from me

Very true.....definitely a good positive way to look at it. My first couple years I spent in S.E. Asia I was shocked at the amount of abandonded and stray dogs. It's sad really. However, there is no question that Gracie is loved ....and spoiled to the max! LOL .... Tummy rubs coming up as you requested.....she'll love it!
