If your first time try it. Every year can be different.
Personally,I've done it several times. Past experience says hope for cold/wet weather.
Warm weather brings out the "undesireables",if ya know what I mean. And lot's of them.
Undesirable as in "drunk,messy,loud,ignorant" the list goes on. And because you choose to ride something different than what they consider the norm,they'll let you know about it.
Many ride obnoxious,giving "bikers in general" a bad rapt. I've seen it all.
I've found the cold wet events bring out the true riders on all sorts of brands,with a true reason for being there. Not just another getogether "Drunk Fest".

Cloudy, Very cloudy, high in the low 30's. No precip for the prior 4 days so that's a good thing. I might come down. Got the new heated Gerbings jacket and did 160 miles yesterday and was totally comfortable! Actually had to remove the inner winter liner from the jacket....

Weather is calling for accumulating snow on Sunday in Chicago. If this is the case I will not attend- I'm not that good a rider!

I have a sheet of broken ice and standing water just to reach the main street - I'm not that skilled a rider. Have a good ride.... and be safe.
