Several years ago I took a cross country trip running into the deep South, up the East coast and back to Chicago. The scariest part of the trip was the part around the Southern tip of Lake Michigan where I-80, the Skyway, I-65, the Ryan and the Bishop Ford all seem to merge within a few miles.
Not my favorite stretch of road in either a cage or on a bike. The ferry would be fun IMHO.
Plus - what about on the return coming down central WI - nice through Baraboo and Green County with a stop in New Glarus?
What are we thinking about how long? two - three - four - five days?
Not. 400 miles a day is about my reasonable limit. Therefore 3 - 4 days for the Lake Michigan loop?
See you tomorrow evening!
I'll be driving the 323i cage.
We could go a bit further north once we get to Houghton. We can stay in some hotel for a night in Houghton during the BMWRA rally.
Coming down through Central WI. It adds about 100 miles more to the trip.
I have snowmobiled quite a bit in and around Nicolet. Nice in the winter!
Who's coming tonight?
I'll be driving my fine rental ... a power blue dodge something - calibur I think.
Plus wearing a green bmw motorrad jacket
I know a few of have committed - anyone else?
Better turnout than I expected.

Maps and menus, gotta love it.
OU812 amused by . . . something!
ghostridery2k and Montauk consider possible routes.
A good beginning, looks like we'll be doing a first group ride in May, thank you all for participating.
