    Winter in Review

"winter" is probably not a fair description of this Californian's
riding season. After all, it barely rains here...but I digress. This
is really about my first year of BMW ownership.

In September, I wandered down the coast to Monterey. Little
did I know, I would be back--at least part way. I tried all the
backroads. One of which took me through the strawberry
fields. I likened it to a scene from a Steinbeck book.

In Monterey, I visited the Aquarium taking some time to renew
    my membership.

Of course, the SF Motorcycle show was a must-see event.

    Followed by some Christmas fun.

Throughout the winter months, I've take several trips over to
the coast. The beach is a favorite destination when I'm out
    for a cruise.

The BMWSportTouring group met for lunch at Phil's and dinner
    at the Brookdale Lodge.

One of the guys wanted to know about Palo Alto so I took a ride
    over and copped some pictures.

I worked on some new camera technique. I have a lot to learn.

I've met some pretty interesting people and enjoyed some
    mighty fine riding.

So why taunt you all with a review of what passes for winter in
California? Why to fill you with inspiration for the summer riding
    season!

And to think, it all started with a trip to Tahoe in June to
    Celebrate the 80th.

    Who'd have thunk?

Nice shots Ian. It's cool to see them all in one spot. What do you mean by "it all started at the Tahoe" thing?

Some bikes. Some with motors, some without.

Well, for many, many years, I have aspired to own a touring
bike. Specifically a BMW. Tahoe was my first real experience
with the BMW crowd and at the moment, I knew I'd latched on
    to something special.

    Kinda like winter in Michigan

Just a whole lot nicer with sun. Great post. Nice looking bikes and really nice looking plate of food!

It was sunny here too. About 18 degrees this AM. Makes you want to move to Indiana doesn't it.

It all depends on how early... I am not a morning person.

    Thumbs up Good post Ian

Thanx for the winter review. Curiously what kind of bike is that old saddle seater next to the red harley? And man do I love that red Norton show bike, it looks awesome! IHCB
