Very nice! I notice you have the older style peanut valve covers. They look good. Plus a nice Reynolds rack and back rest. A true touring machine.

Nice bike WVPC.
Is that an aftermarket windshield? I'm considering the ClearView 21.5" tinited with a recurve and the vent, but it adds up to about $300 with shipping. Would love some other options.

Thanks for the compliments, AA. The windscreen is a National winshield bought many moons ago somewhere near $200. Not sure if they are still in business but I can say that it is much more durable than stock.
Thanks for the compliments, James. It is the most fun bike I have ever owned. I bought this bike in March of 1984 and will try to keep it forever even tho the '10 R1200RT is singing a song to me.
I've had this bike for about 2 years after a long hiatus from motorcycles. Odometer is approaching 60,000 miles. I might add a tail trunk to the bike in 2010 sometime.
On the winter project list is push rod tube seals, San Jose fork brace, shifter lever bearing, new clutch (getting thin) and new clutch and throttle cables. Yes, I have a heated garage to help keep my sanity over the Wisconsin winters.

Beautiful bike!

I just did the conversion from an R100 to an R100RT and have an RS fairing I am prepping and painting now for the Springtime. I'm curious why you said "the hardest part was getting the gloveboxes out of the way"? What are they in the way of? I just trimmed mine back so they wouldn't hit the tank at all...but they aren't in the way.
When you switch to the RS fairing, do you change the spider frame as well or have you made other mods?

I really love all the bikes on this page! Rpeckham, RecycledRS and mhale1; kudos to each of you! A purposeful RT, a John Player special and a cafe racer; great bikes all.
