Big D, Ur pretty cool sittin on that Mystic, but Ur even cooler sittin behind a trap set poundin out the beat to some good Memphis Blues. Barry
This bike was converted from a regular old RT by the previous owner. The seat is a custom jobbie that I can't stand, because it makes my butt look fat (or at least the bike's butt). The "RT" part of the tag on the battery cover is in my toolbox, awaiting resurrection.
The Pichler fairing is a great piece of kit in terms of airflow and comfort, but it is heavy being hung out there so far forward. It has been removed and sold to a fine gentleman way down in Alabama for his /5, and I am restoring a proper RT fairing for the bike over the winter. I am accepting suggestions on colour schemes, by the way.
The thing I like about this picture is that one can pose the question as to which engine is older, the BMW or the DC-3?

Fortunately this is my "other" Airhead that I am working on this winter....we picked it up in the spring and have done a lot of work on her but she needs some more....
Here's what she looked like the day we picked her up:
and when we took her down (again) to start the next phase of a rebuild:
And what she looks like today:
Keep 'em flying and riding brothers and sister.....ride 'em and don't hide 'em. ...
Cheers,
Brian

Yeah, I am torn....the previous owner was really proud of the paint job (spent $600 on it he said) and the girls oddly enough do seem to like it. It's one of a kind for sure. I guess I will make the decision a little later. I am rebuilding the clutch right now which is the only thing that really needs to be done on it.....already rebuilt the heads and a whole lot more. BK
