I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the other members of the forum. I purchased this 1982 R65 in August 2007. This is the first motorcycle I have owned since I was in my early 20's.
I am currently doing some major maintenance and I expect to be posting some questions in the Airhead section of the forum. I have been regularly reading there since August and I have learned a lot.
Here is another photo. I cut about 5" off the windshield because it would fog up at times like early morning riding past a lake. Now I look over the windshield. There is more wind noise but overall I like it better.
Very nice bike, RR. I am also new to this forum and, like you, just got back into riding this last summer after finding this '88 R100RT. I hadn't ridden in about 35 years but it all came back pretty quickly.

picked up last week in a muddy field off a dirt road in the pouring rain, big fun loading it in the back of my 4X4. had been pickled indoors for years before the p.o. briefly punished it. love the big tanked /6's

Found this gem in Boulder last September. Have since put 6,000 delightful miles on it.
