Depending on what year it is, not all /5's had battery covers. How are U likeing your ST. Got one just like it. The only time I road it was right before I bought, maybe 8 or so years ago. Pulled the heads off and did a top end. Sent my speedo off and got it fixed. Been sitting ever since. I have accumulated a few more parts. Bigger R100GS tank and and PD solo seat, bags,mounts and rack Bike looks like a blast to ride, can't wait to get it back together and ride it.

I love my ST, it is nimble and a hoot to ride. It just feels right. Have not had it very long, but I seem to reach for the key as much as I can. Show some pics of your ST. We might be clones in a couple of months. I have a black R100GS tank and some other neat parts still to go on... but I really like the look and feel of it right now. But if I plan on doing some touring with it I will need to heavy it up with bags etc..

The roads are dry enough and the temperature was in the low thirties. I got out this afternoon and decided to visit the same roadside that I had stopped on in January. I tried to take the same photo shots as I did then from memory and got kinda close. I wanted to document the changes that I have made this year on this RT. New heated grips and grip guards are fantastic on a 30 year old. Although given the temperature hit nearly 50 yesterday in Chicago I feel like a bit of a poser. Colder weather is coming and as long as the roads aren't icy...let's go ride!
