It's pretty subtle (typically Teutonic)... the length of the fender, from the mounting bolts to the leading tip of the fender, is slightly less in the front, than in the back. The result being that more of the tire is covered at the back and "splash up" is reduced ... sort of.Anyway, how can you tell the fender is on backwards?

Plus it looks like the front is more sharp in shape while the back is more squared off...presumably for aerodynamic reasons?![]()
