Well, I'll give this pic posting thang a shot

    SWMBO's R75/5 short frame toaster (1973 model, built in 10/72), in 2005 shortly after a disassembly/refurb/repaint:

    Another /5 to the mix.

Finally, I'm back on pavement after my long winter rebuild.

Nice looking bike Daniel. I thought about those mirrors, barend turn signals and Corbin Gunfighter. Mine is a toaster, but I've never seen knee pads on a smaller tank. Sure makes for a smart looking bike.

Where did you get the mirrors? I never did track them down, are they from an earlier /2?

They are Albert mirrors and you can buy them from a seller on ebay, Bobs BMW, Blue Moon Cycle, etc.. Bumm also makes an identical pair which are cheaper. Regardless which brand you buy, they'll give your bike a clean look. I've owned both brands over the years and Bumm vibrate much less than the Alberts, but the Albert's craftsmanship is better.

My bike is a late 73 model and wasn't purchased until 1975 in Californian. I was told it was part of a huge lot of /5's originally bound for the Italian market, but were imported to the states and Canada where they could be sold quicker. Who knows for sure, but I very seldom see original tanks with the setup I have. It also never came with side covers or drilled headlamp ears for reflectors.

There are certainly a lot of beautiful bikes here! I just brought home my first BMW ever, a 1974 R60/6 with 51k. It needs some work, but here it is:

I got back from my first ride on it today, and the left carb began leaking, so I am now learning about the Bing 53's [I ordered a Clymer manual, but not arrived yet].

    wow man,

you nailed it, in nearly every way possible. sometimes cafe racers become so over-obsessive they begin to look ugly, that is PERFECT. love the header wrap.

    Funcie,

I agree with the above...YOU NAILED IT! No one here isn't going to love YOUR toaster.

I also love the header wrap.

    Love it.

I'd ditch the crash bars, and turn the handlebars upside down... but I'd LOVE to have a bike like that.

Great color; tank; seat; turn signals; cylinders; etc..

I was sitting out on the patio of one of my Memphis biker hangouts Sunday and a black toaster came around the corner , then was gone. Sure wished he had of come on up and joined me on the patio. Could have used some company and checked out his/her bike.
