Question Mulitvario Repair - Where, Who?

Can anybody point me to someone who repairs old Mulitvario tankbags? Bob Weis' website is currently announcing that he's no longer in the biz.

    Thanks,

Take it to a good upholsterer in town. That is where I had mine repaired when it needed it.

Thanks. Bob's website makes the same referral. I just thought I'd look for a specialist first.

I took my tankbag to a shoe/luggage repair business to have the zipper replaced. They did a fine job.

Any new hints on this topic?

I've got a Vario t'bag for my 95 R11RS, needs new foam, straps, repair of a small tear. Is the collective opinion still the same, that is, find a local upholsterer/shoe repair place?

    Thnx

I'm sure Boston is like Seattle in that there are at least a couple of businesses who specialize in the repair of high-tech outdoor/camping gear. They routinely work with Gore-Tex, Cordura, heavy-duty zippers, sleeping bags, tents, luggage, etc.

They would have the specialized sewing needles, thread, sewing machines, fabrics, zippers, etc. to repair any sort of heavy duty gear designed to survive life outdoors.

    Hi,
Linda Tanner does an excellent job. I sent her my K1100 Multivario with dead elastic and it came back like new, for a very reasonable price. I never had Bob Weis repair a tankbag, so I don't know his work. But I would recommend Linda to all who need tankbag repair. Unfortunately, I don't know her website.

    Gracias!

    Hey Ratsnake,

You came to my rescue! While I could find Linda's name in the BMWBMW website, try as I might I could not find contact info for her. I was just on the verge of jamming an ice-pick into my face when you posted...

I owe you a beer, point that bike east to claim your prize. Seriously, much appreciated.

    Best,
