Hard Case Aluminum 'Covers' or Shields

The stock saddle bags I have on my 650 have aluminum 'covers' glued to them. I like the covers as I like the look and believe they effectively reflect light and heat from the contents on hot sunny days.
When I ride the wind pries into the front (insect killing side) of the cases and shield forcing the aluminum off.

Have any of you experienced this and how did you tackle repair (I love pics ).
If you have not experienced it, any suggestions ?

I reckon those covers are just barely fastened on with double-side tape and a dab of hot glue.

Here's some info from the Technical FAQs at F650.com:

The newer lids have four big pop rivets to keep the aluminum in place; two in the top and two in the bottom.

I can't wait to retire and have a fixed income. The one I have now is always broke.
