I wanna ride - was the winter of '04

Looking back only a couple weeks to the great storm of '04. Nothing by most northern standards, but it was enough to cripple PDX for most of a week.

So I don't think I'll be going for a ride today.




I wonder how much traction the tire might get anyway. Anyone know how well ice grips ice?




But then the seat might be a little colder on my tush than I'd like.




I suppose I could use the downtime to do some maintenance. Maybe those throttle bodies need synching. All I need to do is twist the little brass screw.




It's a preservative. The bike frozen in limbo for all time, encased in acrylic.




Those heated grips are a wonderful feature of the modern BMW.




Nope. Don't think I'm going for a ride today. At least she's still dirty under the shiny stuff.




Maybe I'll just take the car.

What kind of man sleeps in a warm home and makes his bike sit out exposed to the elements without so much as even a coat?

The key is not to push the BMW up the stairs but to ride it!

Or wait until the stairs snow/ice over and then ride up slope.

Rent a genie lift to pick it up.... At least put a cover on it?

I would be worried about water expanding into ice and cracking stuff.

Or if you want next year, I'll make room for your scoot in my garage. No charge!

Related, barely... on ship to Alaska, the biologists said they wear scuba gear while among the whales. Guess why....

Well, they have bad breath. I mean the whales. I don't know about the biologists.

And when they blow, it's whale snot all over the place. And the whales get pretty much the same infectious diseases we do. So sucking in whale snot is something the biologists try to avoid.



Though grinning, the above is serious.
