Question Speaker earplugs & microphone wiring

Does anyone have a pair of molded speaker earplugs combined with a microphone for communications? If so, what is the wiring arrangement? Are the ear and microphone wires integrated somehow into a three-contact phono plug? Or?

    Thanks.

If you've got an Autocom intercom you can use their "In-Ear Speaker Headset Extension Lead" which combines their headset (with or without the headset speakers) with any speakers which have a 3.5mm plug. Basically, it's a headset lead with a box at the end for you to also plug your own speakers into. So you could use their microphone and a pair of custom molded earplugs with any of the Autocom units. That's one option.

So you have two wires hanging from your head? Or just one? Do you plug the earplug wiring into the microphone lead somewhere on the helmet, and tuck the earplug wiring into the helmet somewhere?

Give me a picture where the wires are coming from (head/helmet) and going to (tankbag/hardwired audio plug(s)).

    Thanks.

You would have two wires hanging from your helmet in this case. The Autocom 7-pin DIN plug from their headset and the 3.5mm plug from the earplug speakers. The two wires might only be a couple of inches long. The two wires would then plug into the DIN connector and "box" shown in the link above. You could then just plug/unplug the other end of the lead at the tankbag (or where ever you have the autocom unit) when you get on/off the bike. When you don't want the lead dangling from the helmet you can unplug the two wires and might be able to find room to roll up and hide the two wires in the padding of the helmet (depending on the helmet).

Sorry I don't have a photo to illustrate.
