And the cars parked by the sides of the road? Berry pickers.
Bring lots of bug spray if you're camping, and the Provincial Parks are nice.

If you cut down Route 2 through Mainistique, MI, watch yourself, the Shagger and DiamonDeb and I all got Excellent Driving Awards there on the way back from Missoula.
    Thanks!

Is this a part of Canada where they don't like radar detectors?

    Radar detectors

Radar detectors are illegal in Ontario, even if turned off. They must be inaccessible while driving. First offence the detector is confiscated and the fine is something more than $100. The provincial police traffic cars (OPP) have detector detectors, so you're best off to leave it buried in your luggage.

If you keep your speed less than 15km/h (10MPH) over the limit you shouldn't have any problems.

Well I don't drink coffee and I am not into sugar coated fat pills so I might pass on the Hortons.

    Hey Rob,

I think the law just recently changed.....something to the effect that any American passing through Canada has to stop at a Horton's to get their passport stamped in order to cross back over the border.

    Gail,

I am heading out to one of our ships early in the morning and will be back sometime over the weekend. It will probably be Monday before I can post the route #'s and waypoints.

I have set this up as a rolling tour with a Friday departure after work to southwest NH, Friday night in upstate NY, Sunday and Monday in a nice campground in Canada, Tuesday at the Soo and arrive at the rally Wednesday. I am going to have to beat it home for work Sunday night / Monday morning and after two days of I'll be leaving Saturday morning and taking the fast way home.

I am happy to have any like minded folks join for any or all ('cept southern NH, I'll be a guest in a private home) parts of the tour. Like minded means a group ride is two but a bunch of groups can travel together and enjoy each other's company in the evening.

The ride out is a stop n smell the roses tour with a big day being 350+.

    Best,

    Rob Nye

    Interesting Looking Route

    Rob:

I would be interested in knowing more about this route as well. Total mileage? I live in southern Vermont and am not sure what route I want to take. I'm leaving on Monday with one other rider. Thanks.

Hey, SheRidesABeemer, good luck in your bid to become a Director. Also, I saw your article in the latest ON about buying a bike on ebay. Good article. I'm here in Vermont and plan to ride to the National. Hope to see you on the road and at the rally. Take care and be safe.

    Greetings,

While I am leaving from Bristol, RI my directions will start from Dublin / Keene, NH

From Keene, take rt 12 north to 103 to Ludlow Vermont. The route has us on 4 to Rutland but if we are making good time we will take back roads west to cross the state line at Lake George. From there it is 28 north to Lowville, NY then 12/14 to the Cedar Point State Park. This is our Saturday leg.

Sunday we will go into Canada and take 401 to Napanee where we will go north on 41 to Denbigh. From there it is 118 - 35 - 60 -141 to the Trans Canada to Parry Sound for Sunday night and a day of relaxing on Monday.

Tuesday will be direct to the Soo and Wednesday will be direct to West Bend.
