    Dakar's gone?

They're not listed as being part of the line-up. I'd heard about this happening. Glad I got one.

It is still listed on the International, Canadian and other sites that I checked. It was listed as a 2007 model on all the versions of the price lists that I have seen.

Seems like I heard it was sort of being replaced by the G series.

I heard today at a dealership that 07 is the last year for the F650 GS. They are going to be replaced by the new ones.

That's what I heard, too. I also heard that the F650GS is BMW's 3rd best selling bike - behind the R1200RT and the R1200GS. Maybe there isn't enough profit in the model - who knows? The 650GS is probably the best do-it-all bike I've ever owned, even if it doesn't have blazing road speed or can't jump stumps. Everything seems to be going towards more edgy, more purpose-specific design.
