Big Bore Adventure Riding
The Wisconsin DNR considers Highway 64 E-W as the dividing line between the Northern Forest lands and the Southern Farm lands. Hwy 64 runs about 30 miles north of the 45 degree north parallel.
On your trip to Wisconsin, remember that any direction you arrive from you can have a excellent "Big Bore Adventure ride".
If you arrive from around the top of Lake Michigan, consider doing the Marquette County Waterfall tour, as it is a great GS ride. In Wabeno, Nicolet National Forest area, I just rode the WDS/AMA Suzuki National Adventure Riding event and I tell you it was a challenge. Heads up for sugar sand!
A little heads-up about the waterfall tour, in The Rockies these waterfalls would be called rapids or a cascade.
This Waterfalls they rightly named "Four Foot Falls"

Years back when the Wisconsin Winter climate was much colder , snowmobiles were the cash crop of many area of Wisconsin. Now, snow machine are dead, and taken their place are All Terrain Vehicle and dual sport bikes. Northern and west central Wisconsin in crossed with ATV trails and many allow DS Bikes. Most County State and National forest roads and logging trails also allow ATV & DS.
If you are entering Southwest Wisconsin, you will be in the Hidden Valleys region and there are many small town roads that go through the valleys to get to the farms. More great Adventure Riding Roads.
