    The way you described it made me think kill switch error or electrical. If elecrical the computer should have picked it up. Fuel cut off should lead to stumbling and then stop running. Abrupt stop as if it was turned off should point to either kill switch or electrical IMHO. Since electrical didn't print out on computer read, I would figure that I likely hit the kill switch and ride it a low between now and the Alaska trip. If no recurrence, then, what the hey - go for the north slope!

    I am begining to think I agree with you, that is what must have happened. The dealer also played around with the machine and then demonstrated that the kill switch can be jogged (without tripping it) and the engine dies. So, I am now back on the bike and will ride it for a little while before putting it way for the winter. Hopefully it will be OK.
