    Cool Ghost Town

Unlike the dry Western States, where you will see whole towns preseved, Wisconsin climate is tough on old buildings. Once the roof is gone, time and weather will quickly destoy the rest of the building.

Cool Sand Dunes, Kohler Andrae State Park, Sheboygan/50 Miles from Rally

When You arrive at the State Park, just ask the Ranger at the fee booth, if you can drive thru. The Rangers will let you do a drive thru, because most Wisconsin State Parks uses State gas tax money to maintain the roadway.

All of the California style scenery was shot, from the seat of my motorbike, while on my drive thru.

Cool Dheinsville Settlement (Germantown) 10 miles south of Rally

    Dheinsville Settlement
Holy Hill Rd. & Fond du Lac Ave.,
    262-255-1812
Established in 1842 by the Phillip Dhein family, one of several families from the Hunsruck area of Germany who settled here, this crossroads settlement has been designated as an historic district. Most of these buildings have been preserved and many are in use today, as they were more than a century ago. Christ Church, built of limestone in 1862, houses a museum operated by the Germantown Historical Society that contains displays and artifacts of early pioneer life. Walking tour brochures are available from the Historical Society. Today all 22 of the original structures remain. Also you’ll get a chance to visit the Sila Lydia Bast Bell Museum and information center.

Directions: The Crossroads are about 10 miles south of the Rally. Take Hwy "P" south, left on Hwy 143 to the Settlement.

Note: This Historic Settlement is not a destination, but a pleasant wayside stop on your way to Holy Hill.

    Cool Sheboygan/50 Miles from Rally

    Worlds Largest Flag Pole, Sheboygan

Interstate 43, 5 miles south of Sheboygan
Acuity Insurance, a Sheboygan-based insurer, raised the tallest flagpole in the United States on July 2, 2005. The steel pole is 338 feet high, 6 feet wide at the base, weighs 65 tons (without the flag), and is sunk into a 550-ton block of concrete that is 40 feet deep, 8 feet wide and reinforced by steel rods. The flag is 120 feet by 60 feet, or 7,200 square feet. Each star is 4 feet high and each stripe is 4 1/2 feet wide. It weighs 300 pounds.[6] This flag and flagpole out did an earlier Acuity record, a flag raised June 2, 2003, atop a 150 foot flagpole. The old pole toppled over due to stress and high winds, almost falling onto nearby Interstate 43. The new flagpole is designed with extra bracing and placed much farther from the highway

To get in to the mood for the National Rally in Wisconsin, you need to go to Wisconsin Sport Touring site and play the Wild Cat Mountain and Mindoro Cut Video. It is a must see!
