Well I had the two '05 K12Ses upgraded as per the latest Service Bulletin Campaign and they run like the '06 now. It's a subtle difference, but under certain conditions, the '05s had some annoying things...which are now gone. Yea!

Do you know what version of the software update that you recieved? Did it fix the surging problem at low speed, low rpm (2500-3000)?
The latest CIP is version 6.0 which is just out. With it, there are upgrades for the BMSK which deal with proper reading of the mileage to valve check and the on/off throttle smoothness. I would say it is the same bike, but now the occasional intensity of the "surging" at that rpm is gone. Also when you turn off the throttle and let engine braking slow you down, the sudden change to less engine braking at about 2700 rpm is gone.Originally Posted by ltthomas
If you have an '05 or early '06 K12S or R , there is probably a "Campaign" listed for your bike's VIN in the system and your upgrade will be done under warranty.
